We're introducing new ways to connect on MyBirkman, giving you more options to customize your experience.
What’s New:
- You can choose either Public or Private mode based on the level of data visibility you prefer.
- You’ll now build your own Connections list and can explore all available individuals in the Directory.
- Favoriting is no longer available and has been replaced by mutual connecting.
- You’ll need to add someone as a Connection before you can add them to a Team.
I currently share with everyone in my organization, how does this affect me?
You will default to Public mode and continue sharing with everyone in your organization. However, users in your organization will now be able to view your data regardless of their own data-sharing status. You won’t be able to access colleagues who choose to go Private, but you can send them an invitation to establish a connection.
I currently choose not to share with anyone, how does this affect me?
You will default to Private mode, and your data will continue to be hidden from colleagues. You’ll now have the opportunity to individually request colleagues you’d like to add to your Connections. Your name will appear on the Directory for your organization and your colleagues will be able to request to connect with you.
How To Update Your Settings
Your defaulted setting aligns with the visibility permissions you previously granted. This change has not expanded the group of people who can access your data.
With this being said, you can easily change your privacy settings. To update your current preference, see Privacy Settings.
